Our Staff

April Brown - Veterinary Technician

April has worked as a veterinary technician since 1993, and has appreciated honing her skills since.  April has been with Brealey Drive Animal Clinic since 2004 and enjoys her job tremendously.  She continues to further her knowledge in veterinary medicine through continued education.  She has always worked with animals and cannot see herself doing anything else.

Outside of work she enjoys time with her two children, her horse Sissy, her dogs Nash, Dennis, and cats Miss Mew, Dixxon, and Benson.  She enjoys taking Sissy to Mountain trail competitions.

Jesse Newman - Veterinary Technician

Jesse has been working in the veterinary field since 1998, and builds on it with continued education.  She has been around veterinary clinics since she was born, observing and working in her father’s veterinary hospital in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.  Growing up with a vet for a dad, and being around animals her whole life, it came as a natural choice to make caring for animals a career.

Outside of work, Jesse also enjoys spending time on the family farm with family dogs, cats Hotdog, Helli and Sprinkler.  During the warmer months she loves riding her Appaloosa horses, Gigi and Floyd.  As well as participating in Adventure races and mountain biking.

Unfortunately August 15th, 2020, Jesse lost her best friend and loyal companion Hammi, due to unforeseen circumstances.  He will be greatly missed as he was part of the family here at Brealey Drive Animal Clinic.

Rebecca Burke - Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Rebecca graduated from St. Lawrence College (2011) with a degree in General Arts and Science (certificate in Veterinary Assistant).  She became interested in the field at a young age, growing up on a hobby farm with a variety of animals.  In her time at Brealey Drive Animal Clinic she has been keen to learn as much as possible.

She still enjoys spending time on the hobby farm, and spending time with her family and newest addition Flemish giant rabbit, Little Foot.

Virgil Snowden - Registered Veterinary Technician

Virgil graduated from St. Lawrence College, in 2020, with an advanced diploma in Veterinary Technology.  With a lifetime love of animals, he is always delighted to learn more and is eager to see which new patients may walk through the door.  He's very excited to now be a part of the Brealey Drive Animal Clinic family.  He looks forward to new experiences and enjoys applying what he has studied in day-to-day practice with patients.

Virgil lives in town with his wife and their two poodles, Remy and Otto, and two cats Thor and Loki.

Annabelle - Resident Cat

Annabelle has been with us since September 2017.  She originally was  adopted from the Peterborough Humane Society, and then came to us.   She has made herself right at home and likes to spend time greeting clients/patients at the door. While clients wait, she will ask for some pets and sit on your lap.  She likes to go out for little explorations outside to bring us back her treasures.  She is our little social  butterfly.
